National Sales Manager, PMD

Summary:

Manages and oversees the effective training and mentoring of direct reports within the Pest Management Division (PMD). Responsible for divisional sales growth, customer relationships, and providing a high level of customer service. Contributes to the annual sales and marketing plan. Will be involved with and contribute to the support and growth of key national accounts at end-user and distributor levels. Communicates important information to the Business Manager and PMD regarding the marketplace, customers, competition, and business development opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Complies with all Liphatech safety policies and procedures.

Generates awareness, interest, and understanding of all Liphatech products in PMPs, distributors, or any center of influence. Communicates the features and benefits of all Liphatech products.

Trains, motivates, and develops staff in order to meet the current and future needs of the division and the company. Challenges others to develop as leaders, while serving as a role model and mentor.

Maintains discipline, resolves problems, and determines performance.Completes annual performance reviews for direct reports in a timely manner.

Develops yearly direct report goals and objectives. Completes six-month accountability discussions with each direct report.

Establishes a format and manages the development of annual territory business plans including top twenty (20) and distributor coverage.

Ensures that District Managers and Sales Representatives are allocating the appropriate portion of their time to the various customer segments and geographical areas.

Provides input to the Business Manager and PMD on the strengths and weaknesses of the Liphatech sales force.

Represents Liphatech at trade association, state association, and distributor meetings to promote products when needed.

Travels with each District Sales Manager three (3) times a year to evaluate and mentor on sales, customer relationship building, and professional advancement activities.

In partnership with the Business Manager, PMD builds relationships with key personnel at large national and regional pest control companies.

Provides support to all distributor partners at the national and regional levels, ensuring positive relationships and excellent customer service. Meets with distributor partners quarterly and provides scorecards.

Assists in the development of the District Sales Managers/Sales Representatives incentive compensation plans.

Assists in the development of distributor and corporate account incentive programs. Responsible for the administration and calculation of end-of-year program figures and working with District Sales Managers to distribute results to customers and process payouts.

Manages PMD sales against the monthly budget, using Altus and QlikView. Prepares a quarterly sales performance update and presents it to the Business Manager, PMD.

Monitors direct reports on expense budgets and adjusts as appropriate.

Manages and monitors the technical and training aspects of assigned product portfolio for direct reports.

Marginal Duties:

Other duties as assigned.

Completes administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualification Requirements:

Certifications and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Supervisory Requirements:

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; ensuring adequate staffing; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience.

A minimum of five (5) years’ previous sales experience required.

Three (3) years of previous experience running a sales territory.

Three (3) years of previous sales force management experience required

A minimum of five (5) years of experience leading, scaling, and mentoring a sales team.

Protective Clothing/Equipment Requirements:

May at times require use of disposable boots, gloves, respirator, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, or dust mask depending on the field job sites and products used.

Wear seat belt when traveling in car.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate information to supervisor and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Strong platform skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other employees in the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills and Ability:

Requires a solid understanding of the company's products.

Proficient or the ability to quickly acquire proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Altus, and CRM.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate with individuals and groups. The employee is frequently required to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation, as well as occasional power grasping. The employee frequently moves and positions oneself to inspect rodent habitats, including ascending and descending ladders. The employee must be able to remain stationary for up to 50% of the time. The employee is occasionally required to move weights up to fifty (50) pounds.

Individuals must be able to travel at least 80% of the time with overnight stays.
