Our Corporate Staff Accountant role will play an integral role in maintaining the month-end/quarter-end accounting to ensure accurate and timely financials. This role will partner closely with corporate functions including IT, fleet, HR and finance teams. This is a unique opportunity for an accountant interested in upgrading processes, creating best practices, driving efficiencies in the close process, integrating new businesses, and building lasting relationships with fellow employees from a Company rated the best employer, seven years in a row. Position involves prioritizing multiple responsibilities, working independently, and effectively communicating with all levels of staff and management within the organization. Must be a self-starter to take ownership of their work, and drive efficiencies in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting.

Responsibilities

You Will . . .

  • Assist with monthly financial close including journal entries, internal reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Record, maintain, and report fleet and real estate lease data leveraging leasing software
  • Collaborate with the treasury departments on accounting for corporate debt
  • Maintain and reconcile prepaids for the corporate office
  • Assist with the review of monthly consolidated financial statements for corporate departments
  • Record and reconcile key accruals including payroll, medical, benefit plans and other entries each month
  • Research and resolve accounting issues for corporate departments
  • Recommend and ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures in compliance with SOX
  • Assist in the design and implementation of process improvements, including standardization, enhancements and potential automation of existing processes and systems, and other accounting applications
  • Work closely and directly with external and internal auditors
  • Build and maintain cross-functional and collaborative relationships with colleagues across finance, operations, legal, procurement, IT, and others
  • Work on special projects and tasks as assigned

  • Work Environment: This is a hybrid role based out of our Atlanta, GA Home Office. Candidate is expected to be in-person a minimum of 2 days per week, though they will need to be in 4 days per week during onboarding.

Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of progressive large public accounting and/or public company experience
  • CPA (incl. in process) is a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced data skills including Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, charts), Alteryx, and Power BI
  • Proficient in US GAAP in judgmental areas
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with software and systems implementations is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and concisely
  • Strong customer service skills, with a sense of urgency and commitment to problem solving
